| Why am I using Xanga again?
"Hi solomon_c! It's been 1180 (wow, that's a big number) days since you joined Xanga... won't you support us by going Premium?"
Damn!
Things that have happened recently...
-I don't go to church anymore. I found it to be a waste of time and
detesting to see that many of the churches have now become social clubs rather than a place of worship. My basis on Christianity does not
stand on how I have felt towards Christians and churches though, I am
not that shallow-minded. I don't believe that we, as humans, can know
for sure that a god exists or not. That makes me an agnostic. Feel
free to intellectually discuss with me on this as I have for the past
year against many, friends and strangers alike.
-I got accepted to 3 unis, rejected to 0, and waiting for a decision
from 1. I will probably end up at the University of Washington, but
we'll see. Regardless, I will be entering into the c/o 2011, so that
means everyone I know will be graduating one year after me. However,
this also means that I will no longer be the youngest for my grade
level, and am now 'average'. Yay.
-I have been asked by a good friend of mine to join him in his
business. I haven't been able to make up my mind on what I should do,
as some of the people I have known and regarded as very wise people look
down upon this type of business and the product itself. (No, it's not
illegal. No, it's not porn.) My friend urges to me that this is a chance in a lifetime,
but for some reason I cannot make up my decision. He is a very
intelligent person, but at the same time it bothers me as I see time
ticking away and I can't decide who's side to take, as the steps to
joining the business isn't free and does come with a price.
-I've been playing a lot of badook, and currently teaching for a
religious private
school's extracurricular program as well as a low-income apartment
complex kid's club. I traveled to China, Sweden, Amsterdam, England,
and various states in 2006 and into early 2007 to play in tournaments
and (for
England/Sweden) to meet with friends I had met from the program in
China. It was a great experience. One of the most memorable moments
was probably my first night in Sweden. Our Swedish friend and host was
only 15, so he had to ask his mom if we could stay in his house.
Shockingly, she said no (that bitch!!), and because hostels were very
expensive in Stockholm (and it was getting very late), my friend from
England and I slept in his storage room. Concrete floor, ice cold
temperature, dust everywhere, crapload of stuff all over, it was quite
the night.
-A lot of my friends have gone to TCC. TCC is about 2 minutes from my
house, so how come I am not meeting with them frequently? I am mad at
myself for not keeping in touch with them as much as I should be (i.e: missing the Superbowl party for something totally pointless.).
Nonetheless, I did meet a few of them and we went to watch 300. It was
a great experience, great movie and an even greater time with them.
-I have also been wasting a good amount of time watching recent Korean and Chinese movies, most of which were utterly crap though few were very good. Some movies I'd like to recommend are "The Host / 괴물", "Curse of the Golden Flower / 满城尽带黄金甲", and "Memories of Murder / 살인의 추억".
So yeah, this is me.
